Ketorol est utilisé pour traiter la douleur modérée à sévère dans les muscles et les os (tension, dislocation, fracture, traumatisme des tissus mous, la myalgie, la sciatique, l'arthrose), les maux de dents, chez les patients atteints de cancer.

General information
Ketorol contains Ketorolac, this is a non-narcotic analgesic. It possesses analgesic and anti-inflammatory by inhibiting cyclooxygenase and synthesis of prostaglandins. The medicine does not have sedative effect and does not react with opioid receptors, does not depress respiratory center and does not influence psychomotor functions.
Dosage is administered individually and depends on severity of pain. A single dose is 0.01 g, maximal daily dose is 0.09 g. Usually it is taken 0.01 g every 4-6 hours. In case of severe pain take 0.02-0.03 g of Ketorol 3-4 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 0.12 g. Patients with body weight under 50 kg, patients who are older than 65 years or have renal dysfunction should not take more than 0.06 g of Ketorol a day. Do not take tablets longer than 7 days.
Caution is needed when Ketorol is administered to patients with liver, kidney, bone marrow disfunctions, erosive and ulcerative damage of gastrointestinal tract in history, congestive heart failure, asthma, bronchial syndrome, angioedema in history. In the patients with impaired blood clotting constant monitoring of the platelet count should be done.
Do not take this medicine if you are under age of 16 years, hypersensitive to it, have gastric or duodenal ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, moderate and pronounced renal dysfunction, blood clotting in history, "Aspirin" asthma, pregnant, breastfeed.
Possible side effect
During treatment the following adverse reactions can occur: dyspeptic disorders, gastritis, erosive and ulcerative damage to gastrointestinal tract, drowsiness, dizziness, acute renal failure, nephropathic syndrome, interstitial nephritis, increases in serum creatinine and serum urea, prolonged bleeding, urticaria. If you have any side effects stop taking the medicine and seek for medical help.
Drug interaction
Ketorol is not compatible with lithium, pentoxifylline, probenecid, anticoagulants and other NSAIDs. It reduces diuretic effect of furosemide in patients with normovolemia. Co-administration with ACE inhibitors increases possibility of renal dysfunction.
Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is time for your next scheduled dose. Don't take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose symptoms after a single dose can include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, hyperventilation, peptic ulcers and erosive gastritis, renal failure. If you suppose that you took too much of this medicine, stop treatment and contact your doctor.
Store your medicines at room temperature between between 59-77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C). Store away from moisture and light. Keep it out of the reach of children and away from pets.
